Troy Resources NL: Initial Diamond Drilling Confirms High Grade In- Situ Hematite Iron Ore at Andorinhas Project in Brazil

Highlights

- All iron assay results have been received for the initial Diamond Core drilling of outcropping hematite iron ore at Abacaxi Target.

- The best iron assays included Hole FED006 69.2% Fe over 0.70m from 10.30 metres and Hole FED007 returned 66.7% Fe over 11.20 metres from 3.5 metres downhole;

- All seven short Diamond Core holes tested outcropping hematite mineralisation and all have holes intercepted massive hematite with true thickness ranging from 0.4m to 8.0m.

Troy Resources NL (”Troy”) (TSX:TRY)(ASX:TRY), through its wholly owned Brazilian subsidiary Reinarda Mineracao Ltda, has received all results from its initial limited diamond core drilling of two zones of outcropping hematite mineralisation within the Abacaxi Target at its Andorinhas Iron Ore Project in Brazil (refer to previous release on July 25th 2008). Northern Gold Announces Commencement of Diamond Drilling at the New High Grade Gold Discovery on the Kirana Property

Northern Gold Mining Inc. (CA:NGM: news, chart, profile) is pleased to announce that it will commence diamond drilling Mon. July 28th 2008 on the recently discovered high grade Matheson Zone in the Fidelity area on its Kirana property. Cabo Drilling (Ontario) Corp. has been contracted to drill a 1st phase 2,000 metre NQ drill program to test and define the form and structure of the recently discovered high grade mineralization. As announced on July 23, 2008, Northern Gold Mining has uncovered high-grade mineralization with selected samples assaying as high as 2305.12 g/t Au (67.22 oz/ton) in a pervasive quartz-iron carbonate flooding named the Matheson Zone on its Kirana property. The property lies 5 kms to the northeast of the prolific Kirkland Lake gold camp, where to date more than 24 million ounces of gold have been produced. The Kirana Claim Group comprises 86 contiguous claim units, 4 patent blocks and an isolated block of 8 more claim units just south of the main group.

metal occurrence. Since that initial discovery, numerous additional vein systems have been discovered, covering more than 60 kilometers (37 miles) in total strike length, using detailed geological mapping, soil geochemistry, magnetometry and IP geophysics. Diamond drill testing has been successfully carried out on more than eight major Pinguino veins identified to date, returning excellent intersections of mineralization. (more…)
